HOLY TRINITY BUSES DO NOT RUN MONDAY
Please be advised that buses will not be running on Monday, January 25th, due to the horrible Moose Jaw, snowed in roads. You may use your judgement as to whether your child will attend school. I am aware a lot of the kids are in daycare and parents work, so if you are unable to get your child to school, we understand. If you do decide to keep your children at home, please advise the school office.

It's time to make SNOW ICE CREAM!!
Today is the perfect day to make snow ice cream. As we are studying snow at school, it was my plan to make snow ice cream at school, but it has to be on a perfect day like today and we're not at school. I just made this with my children. It was easy to make and the kids thought it was yummy!
Bowl of fresh snow
1/2 - 2 cups of milk
1 - 2 TB of vanilla extract
1/2 - 1 cup of sugar
After you have collected the snow, put a 1/2 cup of milk into the bowl at a time and stir. Add until the snow becomes about the consistency of ice cream. Don't worry if it becomes too runny - just go outside and add some more snow. Next, add the vanilla extract - try 1 TB first and add more as you like. Then, add 1/2 cup of sugar, stir, taste, and if you need some more, add some more. Voila! SNOW ICE CREAM! The ice cream melts fairly quickly - I just added more snow. I have put the remainder in the freezer for now, but I am not sure what kind of results I will get. Hope you enjoy making this with your kids!

Skating Starts This Week!
Just a reminder to parents that skating starts on Tuesday, January 19th. Skating runs from Tuesday to Thursay for two weeks at the Bert Hunt. We will be leaving the school around 9:30 and will be on the ice at 10:00am.
We will be needing parents to tie and untie skates. Thank you to all who are coming, and if you are not, that is okay....I know that parents do work! Just a heads up that parents will not be permitted on the ice. It is best if students learn right away that it is okay to fall, and if they do, we will teach them how to get up on their own! We will have a skating instructor as well as myself and two instructional assistants, so children will be taken care of if there is a problem.
Please remember to send your child in appropriate clothing for these days - ski pants, mitts, etc. As well, bicycle helmets will not be permitted. If you do not have a skating helmet, the school does have a bag of helmets we will lend. On these days, please ensure your child's items are sent inside their backpacks as skates without guards have been known to damage the bus seats.
