We have a new instructional assistant in class...

I would like to welcome Mrs. Tracy Sanford into the kindergarten class. She will be replacing Mrs. Nelson who has moved to St.Mary's. Mrs. Sanford was in our classroom at the beginning of the year, so she is familiar with our routines and the students. If you would like to see who she is, she is in the kindergarten class picture.

Visit with Lamont Duck

Lamont Dyck came to the class to speak to the kids about Lent and preparing our hearts for Jesus. He talked to the class about Easter and Jesus's Resurrection. He also did the "Banana Song" with the kids, which the kids love!

St.Patrick's Kids

St. Patrick's Day
The students enjoyed wearing green, eating St. Patrick's cupcakes and cookies, and watching
The Princess and the Frog.

Trip to St. Joseph's

On Tuesday, March 23rd, we will be going to St.Joseph's Church to listen to Lamont Dyck teach about the Stations of the Cross.

Thursday, March 25 - Interviews

As I now teach at two schools, I will be scheduling interviews for the afternoon of the 25th as well as the evening. As there have been a lot of requests for the evening, interviews will likely start at 6pm.

Thank you.

What we are doing during center time....

Ever interested in what your child is during during their center time at school? Here is a look into what students have been doing for the last couple of days.....

Bretlyn was making a Santa out of clay. She used cardboard and smeared the clay onto the board to make a flat picture and added texture with clay tools.

Tyson played school with Christian and pretended to be the teacher and read him a book. He also worked on connecting cubes to make a tower.

Malea worked on tracing mirrors on the chalkboard and turned the rectangles she traced into different things. Malea made a person while Mrs. Osask made a robot.

Katelyn enjoyed playing in the rice bucket. She enjoyed measuring and pouring into a variety of containers.

Connor also worked on measuring and pouring rice in the rice bucket.

Ethan M. worked with Lego and was "creating something cool that is going to drive".

Cody worked in the clay area and made a Ninja for his dad, because his dad likes Ninjas.

Jared played in the sand table. He made a house in the sand so the other students could drive their cars up to his house for a visit.

Aiden worked in the sand. He created a sand road by borrowing the roller from the clay to flatten out the sand and pack it down.

Tessa worked in the clay and made culinary creations - she made a candy cane and an ice cream. When I asked her why she chose to make those she said "because I can".

Zoey worked in the creation station and made a picture with shapes out of foam and cardboard for her babysitter.

Jaylon made a big hotdog out of clay for Mikah, because "my little brother really likes hotdogs".

Christian played school and used a ruler stick to go through the alphabet backwards (he said he was very tired out after that). He also built a tower. When the tower fell I asked how he could build it differently, and he said "I could build on either side of it or make it smoother by puttting the same sizes of blocks". He tried the same size first and it got a little higher before it fell down.

Ethan S. played doctor and pretended to listen to Christian's heart while Christian was playing school. He then continued to be a doctor and read a magazine.

Eric played in the sand making roads for the cars. He used shovels to carv out the sand so there were flat roads for the cars. He then parked the cars.

Jenna worked in the rice bucket pouring and measuring the rice.

Brandon built roads in the sand. He then moved onto the clay where the cut up the clay and used a piece of cardboard to make a pizza. He then began cutting and rolling the clay to make a snake.

Jazmyne worked in the rice bucket pouring and measuring and dumping.

Shavon worked on gluing pieces of ribbon on a paper in the creation station.

I hope this gave you a little insight into the kinds of things your children do during center or project time at school.
